Maria Carolyn

Born and raised in the Philippines, I moved to the UK 10 years ago. As much as I enjoyed and was intrigued by English in my early years here, I couldn’t deny that I missed Filipino food, so cooking became the solution.

 

I used to work in the healthcare sector full-time, which was rewarding, as most people claim, but it was not 100% fulfilling in my case. I started learning about other Asian cuisines and realized I enjoy cooking from scratch and discovering new dishes.

 

I am a foodie and my travels are always designed around food adventures. Cooking the meals I experienced and learned about during my travels can be both fun and frustrating, as I tend add my own little twist or change them altogether.

 

I embarked on a culinary journey in one of the most unique and busiest food hubs in Asia—Bangkok, Thailand. Growing up in the neighboring country, the Philippines, street food is not new to me. I tasted some of the most amazing dishes found on the streets and learned to cook them with a professional Thai chef.

 

This blog will cover more Asian cuisines as it progresses. The goal is to travel, learn and share. Happy cooking!
